The Traditional Fundraiser

The MagRaise Fundraiser is the good old traditional in hand sales type of magazine drive. This is a classic event many of us went through in our younger days. Some of us had a real knack for demonstrating to the neighbors that this was a win win situation, they get a subscription to the favorite magazine for the normal 1 year subscription price, less than the newsstand, and our school, club, or charity gets most of the proceeds instead of the publisher. For better or worse on have fond or favorable a memory this was, it was probably good for you. Taking the initiative to help one's one school made them feel more connected. Also, you get one of your first finance lessons, money doesn't grow on trees, and your school needs it to do the things they wont to do. Going to your neighbor, sharing why your there, your and their benefit in helping, is a rare opportunity for a younger person to articulate such a pitch. Its hard to argue this is not a character building excercise. There are certain benefits from these face to face interactions that don't show up on the bottom line of the fundraiser, will be bring confidence and rewards later in life.
